The Otter House opens in Fredericksburg
Oct. 14, 2009 5:18 pm
The owners of the Sunken Well Tavern have opened their second restaurant in Fredericksburg.
The Otter House is now open for lunch, between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. It will be open for dinner and late night in the next week or two, at which time the hours will be 11 a.m. until 2 a.m. The Otter House menu features 15 different kinds of burgers from hormone-free black angus cattle. It also has personal pizzas, appetizers, sandwiches, vegetarian items and more. The restaurant's name derives from the otter that business partners Steve Cameli and Paul Stoddard have above the bar at the Sunken Well Tavern, which will remain open. The otter will be moved to the restaurant that bears its name. The Otter House's nearly 5,000-square-foot home at 1005 Princess Anne St. formerly housed The Loft and Frederick's, which closed this year. It will offer a full menu upstairs and downstairs. Live music in the evenings will be upstairs, which also features TVs.
